Sorry I have a lot of questions! Your report suggests that foreign governments should consider targeted sanctions on senior officials responsible for Xinjiang’s labour transfer policy. Australia is currently having an inquiry into whether to have a Magnitsky-style act, something that DFAT has said it would support (which was interesting). Could you comment on how effective you think sanctions of that nature would be? Have they worked in other contexts to improve human rights?

I know the answer is probably it's too soon to say, but I'm interested as to whether you have heard anything about how these forced laborers are being treated during the pandemic? It seems unlikely they would have been able to return home, as many migrant workers were able to outside of Hubei. And then as many factories are now back online but operating well below capacity, surely these laborers would be among the first to be stood down or laid off?

Have you heard from other companies or seen a shift in business practices since the report was published? I'm most interested in reactions from U.S. and Australian companies.

Hi Vicky, how can we make sure the companies that use slave labor are held accountable and this news isn't brushed under the rug in the west?

I appreciate pretty much of your efforts to find the facts about forced labors in mainland Chinese cities. As far as I know about the report, the range of forced labors is more focused in activities in factories. But, as I lived in China for about 25 years, i have heard a lot about another chilling forced labors which is beautiful Uyghur girls are forced to work in night clubs, kind of prostitute in hotel etc. Moreover, the Chinese government has been transferring Uyghur worker(mostly young adults) starting from earlier 2000. I didn't heard about those transfered returned back to their homes. Are you guys interested in investigating the after-life of those transfered long ago? In mainland Chinese cities, there must be less difficulties to get information from factories and especially from those Uyghur workers than in Xinjiang, is this true? Do you guys continue your investigation in the future?

Standard Communist Operating Procedure (SCOP)- take your citizens, falsely accuse them without just trial of being "enemies of the state" , slam them into Gulags dressed up as "holiday camps" and use these poor citizen wretches as free slave labour in the service of the almighty Communist state, and don't advertise/publicise such and most in west or locally won't be the wiser to the horrendous state sponsored crime being committed in the name of humanity and security.

Hello! Excellent report. 1) In terms of corporate responsibility, are there any international instruments that could be used to push companies to monitor the way their products are made (as was tried with coltan, diamonds etc) 2) what are the risks of the pandemic reaching the Uygurs in these fabrics and in detention camps?

Hi! Thank you for doing this. I'm interested in the responses you've had from the Australian government to your report. Have they, for example, undertaken to look at what the findings mean for Australia's modern slavery laws and obligations?
